At July the 9th, with a festive ceremony, Romanian Patriarch Daniel became an Honoured Doctor of Science of the Theologian Institute “Saint Sergey” in Paris.

An official delegation of the Romanian Orthodox Church, consisting priests, theologians, and former students of the Institute has been present at the ceremony.

Priests, theologians, and representatives of the Romanian West European Church, diplomats, professors of the institute, and the Dean of the Institute have present at this awarding, as well.

It was emphasised on the meeting the great positive role of the Romanian Patriarch in renewing the spiritual life in Romania, such as his great efforts in establishing Theologian schools, libraries, seminars, and mostly in founding and supporting Church media, through which the Gospel and the Word of God reached the homes of many Romanians making them good and loyal Orthodox Christians.

Responding to these cheerful words, Romanian Patriarch Daniel accented the good relations between “Saint Sergey” Institute and the Romanian Orthodox Church. The best evidence is that many Romanians study at the institute – said Patriarch Daniel.

The Institute “Saint Sergey” is not big or have some big material fortune, but they are respected all over the world due to their mission in the world – continued Patriarch.
