Promotion of a book in the monastery of the Holy Archangel Michael in Berovo ( 06.06.2004 )

Today, at noon, in the monastery of the Holy Archangel Michael the promotion took place of the book “Monuments of the ecclesiastical painting in the Maleševo area from the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries” by Duška Matevska, MA. The mentor Cvetan Grozdanov, academician, delivered an address with his view of the meaning of Mrs. Matevska’s research work. In the spirit of the monastery atmosphere, with an authentic story from the personal visit to the monastery several years before, a little literary reading took place in the presence of the writer Petre M. Andreevski, academician. The manifestation was enriched with the church chant of the choir from the Skopje cathedral of Saint Clement of Ohrid, and was conducted by the acter Tome Vitanov. At the promotion of this thesis on the heritage of the ecclesiastical painting from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries in the Maleševo area, among the present were Archbishop Stephen of Ohrid and Macedonia, Metropolitan Peter of Prespa and Pelagonia, Metropolitan Nahum of Strumica, the mayor and the member of the parliament from this town, a number of clergy and citizens. The book “Monuments of the ecclesiastical painting in the Maleševo area from the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries” issued by Ezimit D.o.o. Skopje, edited by the magazine Premin was published with a blessing by Metropolitan Nahum of Strumica, reviewed by Cvetan Grozdanov, academician.
