Christ’s Ascension (Umlena) ( 20.05.2004 )

 

Today, on the centennial of the construction of the church in the Maleševo village of Umlena, dedicated to the Ascension of Christ, Divine Liturgy in this church was celebrated by Metropolitan Nahum of Strumica. At the Hierarch’s Liturgy on the feast of the shrine in Umlena there were numberless faithful present from the village and its surrounding area.

 

 

Thus spoke Abba Serapion:

            “Just as soldiers standing before the king can neither look to the left or to the right, thus also man, if he stands before God and watches at every hour before Him in awe, nothing hostile can frighten him.”

 

 

  

   Abba Moses asked Abba Silouan:

            “Can man make a fresh start everyday?”

   And the Elder said:

            “If he is fervent, he can make a fresh start even at every hour.”
