Georgian Patriarch Ilya the Second visited the Monastery complex in construction, placed on the border between Georgia and Russia ( 28.06.2009 )

Georgian Patriarch Ilya the Second prays to God for the unity and peace of the people of Georgia. The Head of the Georgian Orthodox Church stated this as he has visited the Monastery complex in construction, placed on the border between Russia and Georgia, in the Kasbah area, last Thursday.

“We are obliged to have on mind that the enemy never sleeps, both the outer and inner one” Therefore, our prayer must be much stronger. We came here, in this holy temple, to pray to Him, our God, to bless, unite, give peace and make happy the whole Georgia’ – stated the Patriarch.

According to his words, the monastery complex in the area of Kasbah, should stay forever the symbol of the brotherhood between Russian and Georgian people.

The monastery complex will be built at the territory which is on the Russian-Georgian border since 2007, and the residential house of the President and apartments for the Patriarch will be constructed here, as well.

After the visit of the complex in construction, Patriarch Ilya the Second left for his native village Sno, placed in the Kasbah area, and will be back to Tbilisi at Friday.
