Church and the Government of Georgia have signed Agreement of Cooperation ( 28.04.2009 )

An Agreement of Cooperation in Reconciliation of condemned prisoners has been signed between the Georgian Church and the Government of Georgia. It has been agreed that the prisoners perform useful sociable works in the churches and monasteries in Georgia, and to be encouraged to take presence in the church’s life – reports the newspaper “Free Georgia”. The Minister of persevering the verdict, examination and legal help Mr. Dmitrii Shashkin announced to the press, that in accordance to the Agreement, it is possible that some categories of prisoners spend the whole time of their sentence working at such socially useful jobs in the monasteries and churches all over Georgia.
