The first Russian Orthodox church in Rome to be consecrated on April 19 ( 07.04.2006 )

On 19 April this year, in the Italian capital city the consecration of the first Russian orthodox shrine will take place. According to the vice-chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for External Church Relations, Bishop Mark of Yegoryevsk, the consecration of the Russian cathedral in Rome, dedicated to the Holy Great-martyr Catherine, will be performed by Metropolitan Cyril of Kaliningrad and Smolensk, the chairman of the same Department. In Rome live more than 10,000 Orthodox of various nationalities.
