International Art Colony St. Joakim Osogovski

(takes place every year from 5 to 20 September)

In such an important spiritual center, the monastery of St. Joakim Osogovski of Kriva Palanka, which was founded in the twelfth century, works the International Art Colony named “St. Joakim Osogovski”. The Colony was founded in 1987, managed to gather many well-known domestic and foreign artists from U.S.A, France, Germany, Turkey, Switzerland, Japan, Egypt, Austria, Holland, China, Australia, Sweden, Slovenia, and Macedonia .

In relatively short time, the Colony has achieved a rich fund of paintings.

Events of this kind actually have a more profound meaning than more companionship of artists. Having artists of various painterly attitudes that enjoy a single treatment by the organizer, attention is being paid to individual creative features no matter if they are similar or opposed among themselves.

The International Art Colony “St. Joakim Osogovski” is a lasting event with a continuation that makes it unusual and unique.

The Council of the Colony sends invitations to visiting artist.

The visiting artist is entitled hotel accommodation free of charge, plus travel expenses from Skopje-Kriva Palanka-Skopje and the materials for oil work, (painting brushes and specific material for work should be provided by the artists themselves).

Each visiting artist is obliged to leave two of his works as a contribution to the Colony collection, in an agreement with the Organizer.

The works created in the Colony traditionally will be exhibited every year.

The Colony will print a catalogue for the exhibition. The participants should bring with them biography and catalog dates.
