Holy Martyr Parasceva of Iconium ( 10.11.2007 )

During the persecutions of Diocletian, Parasceva was brought to trial before the Governor of the region. When the Governor asked her what her name was, she answered that her name was Christian. The Governor reproached her for refusing to tell her real name. And Parasceva told him: “I needed to tell you first the name for life everlasting, and only after for this temporary”.

Apparently, the holy people are well acquainted with the values and priorities scale and it cannot possibly happen to them, as to some, to change the glory of the incorruptible God with an image similar to corruptible man i.e. it cannot possibly happen they to place ethnophyletism before the love towards God and towards every man, also before the Church unity. Into these “some” also fit “clerical people” who claim: Macedonia is Greek… and the missing parts of it ought to be given back to it. With such an ill-considered and demonic statement these “clerical people” hint at the territory of the Republic of Macedonia, and also to parts of Macedonia that are now within Bulgaria and Albania, and are trying to complicate to no end the already complex state of affairs between the two Churches and two countries.

It is truly bad when one is emotionally and mentally torn between the antique gods and the Godman Jesus Christ, between the Greek antique cities-states and the antique global state power Macedonia, and it is particularly bad and schizophrenic when as being a newcomer rather than a native, that one has nothing to do with all the above-mentioned. It is indeed very bad for one to heal and prove in the Church his frustration at not belonging to one culture and nation. Artificially created nation, comprised of Macedonians, Wallachians, Albanians, one million Gypsies, Turks and other peoples from Asia Minor (who, when brought to Greece in the year 1921 did not speak Greek at all), healing its frustrations in an incorrect way, is creating artificial problems in the Church.

Here is what the Macedonian apostle Paul says regarding such ones, which is also common knowledge:

“Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man – and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, Who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting” (Rom. 1:21-28).
