Conference of the Permanent Synod of the Greek Church ( 02.02.2009 )

From February 3rd to 5th a Conference of the permanent Holy Synod of the Greek Orthodox Church, consisting 12 archpriests, 6 from the old lands and 6 from the new lands, will take place.  

A Celebration Service in the occasion of the day of Saint Photius the Great, who is the Patron of the Synod of the Greek Church, will be celebrated at the day of February the 6th. Furthermore, a Conference dedicated to Saint Photius will be held. Teachers and professors of the Theologian Faculties in Greece and hierarchs of the Holy Synod will take their presence on the conference. The main speaker presenter will be the Dean of the School for Church and Social Theology of the Thessalonica Theologian University, Prof. Hristo Iconomu on the subject: “Saint Photius the Great as Interpreter of the New Testament.”
