The issue about the future of the Jerusalem Patriarch will be decided on a meeting of the High Synod in Phanar ( 14.05.2005 )

Eirinaios will be adverted in the Patriarchal Liturgy in Phanar as normal, regardless of the demand of the Jerusalem Patriarchate Administrative Committee to stop the advert of the deposed Patriarch. This was decided today in the Synod meeting which focused on the future of Eirinaios and the stance of the Greek Orthodox Churches towards him and presided by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and attended by Alexandria Patriarch Theodoros and Metropolitan Bishops of Sevasteias, Filadelfias, Chania, Ikoniou, Efessos and Irakleias. The High Synod meeting will take place on Tuesday and will rule the future of the Jerusalem Patriarch, who is expected to arrive in Phanar on Monday. In today’s meeting the verdict of the Patriarchal delegation, that visited Jerusalem last week, was published.

"Do Not Advert Him"

On this issue, Archbishop Christodoulos had a telephone discussion with Bartholomew, while he cancelled his visits to Karditsa and Larisa. As it was made known, Christodoulos will not perform Mass on Sunday, in order to not take a stance in the demand of the Jerusalem Patriarchate Administrative Committee to stop the advert.
