The Second World Conference for Inter religious and Intercultural dialogue ( 08.05.2010 )

At the Second World Conference for Inter religious and Intercultural dialogue held in Ohrid participated representatives from more different religions and cultures from all over the world. Opening of the conference was made by its President, Mrs. Valentina Bozhinovska, the director of the Committee for relations with religious communities and religious groups.

 

An official addressing on a planned discussion was made by: Mr. Nikola Gruevski, the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia; Mrs. Elizabeta Kancheska–Mileska, the Minister of culture and the president of the International Committee for organizing the Second World Conference; Mr. Guido Belatti-Ceccoli, a representative of the Committee of Ministers in the European Council.

 

Addressing of the representatives of religious groups was made by: His Beatitude the Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonia, Mr. Mr. Stefan; Reis Ul Ulema Hadji Sulejman effendi Redjepi, the President of the Islamic religious community in the Republic of Macedonia, His Eminence, Cardinal Vinko Puljić, a delegated representative – the head of a delegation of the Holy See; Mr. Heinrich Baker, a director for International contacts for Jewish community. In the afternoon program on the topic of "The role of religion and culture in the transformation of society" a Metropolitan American-Canadian, Mr. Methody, made his addressing to the delegates. At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Gjorgje Ivanov, a meeting of all the participants of the Orthodox Churches was accomplished. They were represented by: Archbishop Jaroslavski and Rostovski, Mr. Kiril (Russian Orthodox Church); Archbishop of Philiopoli, Mr. Nikon (Orthodox Church of Antioch); priest Peter (Serbian Orthodox Church) as well as the representative from Albanian Orthodox Church, Archbishop Jovan.
