Divine Liturgy in Veljusa ( 05.02.2006 )

Today, on the day of Saint Clement of Ancyra, Metropolitan Nahum of Strumica celebrated Divine Liturgy in the chapel of the holy Apostle Paul and Saint Gregory Palamas in the monastery of the Most Holy Theotokos Eleusa in Veljusa.

“He who practices inner struggle must maintain at every moment four activities: humility, utmost attention, confronting the thoughts, and prayer—since after the confrontation he must call upon Christ with ineffable sighs from the depth of his heart. Then the struggler himself will see how the adored name of Christ disperses the enemy and its fantasy, like it happens to dust or smoke before the power of the wind… Therefore do not yield to the dream of indolence to your own ruin, but whip the enemy with the Name of Christ. Let that sweetest Name stick to your own breath and you will come to know the benefit of silence…” (Saint Hesychius, presbyter of Jerusalem)
